What is embryo freezing?
After IVF, healthy embryos that aren’t transferred immediately can be frozen (vitrified) and safely stored for future use. They’re later thawed and transferred in a frozen embryo transfer (FET) cycle — giving you more chances of pregnancy from a single IVF cycle.
When should it be considered?
It’s useful when there are good-quality embryos left over after a fresh transfer, when the body needs time to recover before transfer, during fertility preservation, or when planning future pregnancies without repeating the full IVF process.
